An Introduction To PPC (Pay Per Click)

If you have a website that sells products or services, the way to be most successful is to have people visit your website. One effective method of driving visitors to your site is through the use of pay per click (PPC) advertising. Some website owners are reluctant to pay to advertise on the web because they think that visitors will naturally find their way to the site. While you might get some visitors through searches and other methods, to truly increase your traffic, you need to be proactive about advertising. Pay per click could be just the ticket to success.

One advantage of using PPC is that you can target your core audience through placement of advertising based on specific keywords. If you create an effective pay per click strategy, you should see an almost immediate increase in traffic to your website. With good planning, most of that traffic will be just the type of customer you are looking to reach. One thing that makes pay per click a cost effective advertising technique is that you only pay when your ads are clicked on, hence the name. The primary PPC providers are Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter.

As with any advertising campaign, it is important that you understand your target audience in order to use PPC effectively. If you know what types of keywords your target user is likely to be searching, and you select the keywords that are most relevant to your website content, you will be able to effectively place your pay per click ads to greatest advantage.

And while you won’t always get your target user to click on your ad, that doesn’t mean that the advertising was not effective. Just because you don’t get every click doesn’t mean that your target user doesn’t see your ad and associate it with what he was searching for. You could think of it as a form of free advertising. Further, since there was no click there wasn’t any charge, but you still got your target user’s attention.

When you use PPC, your ads will be displayed on a vast variety of news sites, websites and blogs. In order to find the most appropriate potential customers for your site, PPC providers also frequently use contextual marketing. This means that your ads will show up on other websites that have similar content to yours. Through this means, you can most effectively reach the people who would be most interested in your products or services.

Classy Promotional Products That Expose Your Brand

Personalized promotional products are a fantastic way to get your company, charity or event noticed. There is a vast collection of different products and clothing attires that can be customized to suit your business or event needs in a serious, funny or elegant way.

Check out some of the promotional products ideas which can be found online below.

## Mouse Pad

There are billions of office workers worldwide who spend half of their day working in front of a computer working and typing away. How about considering a customized gel filled mouse pad as a promotional product idea? Mouse pads with gel-filled wrist supports offer comfort from heavy usage of any mouse. A mouse pad with a quality material inside, coming in the color of your choice, will definitely have a great impact on your targeted market. These particular items are best given out at events or exhibitions.

## Small Umbrella

Umbrellas are a necessary but not loved accessory that many of us need due to the common inclement weather we live in. That’s another huge market to tap into. How about when someone pops open their umbrella, your company logo is boldly proclaimed on the open umbrella! As people are walking to and fro during the day, your logo will start to burn its impression in the minds of those that see it. Your umbrellas, being quality made, will cause others to say, “Hey, where can I get one of those?” It’s a great item which can drive people to your brand and raise the consciousness of your brand in the general public.

## Ladies Clothing

Promotional items such as golf shirts, caps and jackets can be found anywhere nowadays. But you can do something different and interesting for the ladies by creating a shirt that will have a curved hemline as well as being semi-fitted to perfection — it will not only look good on them but still carry your brand! The shirt color should also be of consideration and the best choice of colors should be anything pastel from light pink through to baby blue through to light brown. Think about this — let’s say you have something that the ladies love to wear. It’d be great. But if you were to have something that the ladies love to wear that also carries your brand on it, wouldn’t it be simply amazing?

You can find all sorts of promotional items online from local as well as international suppliers. All you have to do is hop on the Internet and find the list of companies that sell promotional products and start placing your orders!

Put Your Business In The Limelight Via Inexpensive Promotional Merchandise

If a person has a small to medium sized business, advertising might be an area needing attention to attract customers and get the company name out to be seen. Items that sport the business logo, name, phone number, and website are a very good way to catch the eye of potential clients while making the organization look professional at the same time. Of course, it is necessary to keep the costs as low as possible and, at the same time, have something valuable to offer the average person. For this reason, promotional pens are often used to publicize companies of all sizes. Everyone needs something to write with, and a promotional pen serves the purpose very well.

It is hard to imagine where some products end up based on where they start. A simple item with a business’s name on it can be carried purposely or by accident to the other side of the world. A useful item may be given to a friend who gives it to another acquaintance, and the process can be repeated countless times. Upon each exchange, the product gets further and further from its starting point, and many times ends up with a person who has no idea what the business is, makes, sells, or the kind of services it provides.

On the other hand, an item given to a friend or client may stay in one location for most of its useful existence, constantly serving as a reminder of the business and sometimes creating a conversation piece to spread the company name to individuals who might be interested in doing business. Business cards probably are the least effective type of advertising because they have become so clich that individuals often dispose of them when they take them out of their pocket. Even when saving a business card, it is often tossed away into a drawer along with many other cards, making it indistinct.

Many years ago, hand fans were used extensively for advertising and given out liberally to churches. These typically, marketed funeral homes and services that the church as an organization may have need of at some point in time. These can still be found in many churches, although their obvious worth has been immensely decreased because of air conditioning. They are more of a novelty today than they are an item that has necessary use. This would rule out most individuals from using them to advertise themselves or their companies.

While things that are not very costly to produce are not always valued enough to escape the wastebasket, some inexpensive things are practical to have around, and people are prone to hold onto them. Any well-planned marketing campaign has to take into consideration precisely what audience it wants to reach and what that audience will collectively hold onto or display where other prospective clients will have occasion to see it. The answers are not always easy, especially for a business that has a large base of services or products. Instead of continuously using the same promotional items, it might be a better use of funds to change each year or incorporate the use of many different varieties.

Connor R. Sullivan has often received a promotional pen when he visits a hotel or bank. He purchased several cases of promotional pens to give new clients when using his business. Don’t reprint this exact article. Instead, reprint a free unique content version of this same article.
